- Objectives
1.
To interact and improve dialogue with other representative organizations which
share common goals in relation to food safety issues.
2.
Review and develop Food Safety Policy Statements and to collate and submit
members comments on food safety legislation and policies and to provide practical
advice to government bodies on food safety issues at all levels.
3.
Develop Position Statements where appropriate regarding relevant Food Safety
issues (eg. Genetically Modified Foods, Irradiations of food, Enforcement
protocols) as determined by members.
4.
Communicate regularly via email with members and to provide a forum for members
to meet and discuss food safety issues.
5.
Improve the accessibility of Food Safety information through the Environmental
Health Association Web site.
6.
Identify training needs that increase the food safety knowledge and skills
of
members.
7.
Consult with members regarding new Food Safety legislation/guidelines as they
are released for comment.
