1. To promote better liaison between emergency agencies and EH practitioner's through promotion of the role of EHP's at the local level.

2. To distribute information about opportunities to serve in remote areas or overseas in environmental health emergency management roles.

3. To develop a network of contacts of interstate emergency management professionals.

4. To promote a consistency of emergency preparedness, prevention and response amongst Local Governments, so that irrespective of location, or population, a timely and appropriate response is provided by emergency management providers.

5. To spread information, and to promote knowledge and activities in relation to emergency management in the field of environmental health, and to promote new projects with this theme.

6. To comment on any relevant emergency management legislation.

7. To coordinate the running of an emergency preparedness training course and encouraging officers to attend the course.
